I haven't been this excited (or this frightened) for the fate of Remy LeBeau in ages:

Scans for the upcoming X-Men: Origins - GAMBIT!

Really? REALLY!???

Dear Marvel, please, please lend this stupid fangirl a little Emil Lapin love. That's not too much to ask, is it? I promise I will act my age for at least a month after I can get the initial excitement out of my system if you only, only treat the Guilds and their members a little better than you have in the past with all the Old Kingdom tripe.

(I need to call my comic book guys and have them put this on my sub immediately. Holy hell.)

Title: Bats in the Belfry
Chapter I: A New Orleans Nocturne
Fandom: X-Men: Evolution

Rating: Mature
Pairing: Rogue/Gambit
Secondary Pairings: A variety, noted at the beginning of each chapter.
Warnings: Sex, death, het, slash, blood and booze. (Graphic imagery, strong language, scenes of a sexual nature, etc.)

i. It's been many months. I've survived finals, survived school, survived several adventures and many, many dramas - some worth mention, some hardly not. I'm "home".

ii. Yes, I downloaded and watched "it". If you need me to elaborate on what "it" is, you and I have very little to speak of at this moment. In the event that you know what "it" is that I'm referring to: OMG. SQUEE. REMY.

iii. I look at a blank screen and I panic. I think of the amount of time required, the amount of emotional investment, I wet my knickers a little, and avoid my laptop for another three days. I opened my writing software yesterday, scanned a few lines, and physically restrained myself from starting again. My palms are sweaty. My fingers itch. I remember these faces and places and slowly, slowly, its coming back to me - makes the heart hurt a little. It's been too long.

iv. Facebook is the devil.

v. Twitter moreso.

How the hell are you?

Hi kids. Got a question or two for you. I've got a friend (who isn't on livejournal) looking for a brand-spanking new RPG to take part in.

I don't dabble in those realms, per se; I tend to stick to the mantra that "fanwriting is life", so basically, apart from scanning my flist for any advertisements, I have no idea where to look.

He did mention that he wanted to play as an original character.

Any thoughts on where I could point him?

(Eh. I guess that's only one question, huh? Or does that make two? Three?)

Just a few points, regarding the X-Men Panel page updates (this hour) on CBR. Spoilers neatly tucked away beneath the cut, for those not wanting their eyes and ears bleeding.

In no particular order... )

...When it comes to T&A. Particularly Rogue's... in this particular position... with Remy's hand lingering only very slightly north of her posterior.

...

In my humble opinion, it's still hot.

Hell, the pose is practically iconic. Or is that cliche? This makes the second twisted-back embrace with cards and the threat of exposed skin seen in a matter of months, the last incident being #204 of Adjectiveless. Thoughts? Third time's a charm, says I. Bring it on, Marvel. You can't do any worse with these two than you've done so far.

I might've fallen out of fandom for a little while there - too many real life responsibilites kicking me around, maybe a little ennui - but let it be known that even if I'm not talking about it, I'm still reading. That benefits you in the following way:

FANON > CANON.

I howled and screamed and flailed about last night upon first reading those three immortal words made canon:

Remy Etienne LeBeau.

It's legit; fanon filters into canon: Lori McDonald's legacy has made it to print. Way to go, Marvel!

For you, eleven scans from Weapon X: First Class #3 below the cut, featuring a brief heist by the Ragin' Cajun (as a pichouette so he's still a little skinny and boyish) for the Big Bad below the cut. (I wasn't too impressed by the rest of the mini, but this is the reason I bothered buying it to begin with anyway.)

When I get home, first thing I'm gonna do is steal me a coat... )

Or, Download the Bundle.
