ROMY: Rogue/Remy (Rogue/Gambit) Master Reclist

---
X-Men Evolution, Comics, TAS and Movieverse
Masterlist of Rogue/Remy - Rogue/Gambit - ROMY
Fanfiction Recommendations

---

The following is a compiled reclist of the very best Rogue/Remy fanfiction that I've come across in my travels (which is to say, "the best in my humble opinion, that appealed to me first and foremost as a reader, and that I think others may enjoy as well, but should not be assumed to be definitive in any way.") Novella and novel-length fanfiction worth mentioning has been sorted by In Progress or Complete Status. One-Shots, drabbles and anything in between have been sorted by genre. Ratings and universes have been included in the notes.

This listing will be appended as necessary. This is something I didn't do when I first started reading in HP, I figure it's a pretty good way to keep up with whatever comes my way.

However, please bear in mind that when the school term hits, I stop reading. I, like everyone else, need to be fed. Accordingly, I have to rely on my own search methods to dredge up these recommendations, and accordingly, that makes me fallible. I miss things. A lot of very good things. Thus, I ask others to feed me with links, so I can, in turn, feed you with links.

Updates to the List: November 25, 2007

- Authors with known livejournal accounts have had their listings appended.
- N.B.: If you are already listed with your ffnet account, and would like to be linked from your livejournal as well, please leave a comment so I can make the necessary changes.
- NEW ADDITIONS: Written something new that isn't here? The best way to let me know about it is to leave a comment. Don't be shy, this list gets more hits than my actual LJ. Trust me when I say people are reading. (Thank you, everyone who's been reading!)
- Additionally, if you've got a Pit of Voles account, you can keep up with current recs at House of Cards. Just subscribe to the community.

Lucia's Stuff: My writing, as per usual, can be found in several locations. If you're looking for "The Ante" or Anteverse-related writings, try my account at the Pit or Marvelfanfiction. If you're looking for access to "Bats in the Belfry" before it gets released under the penname Carmine LaCroix, you can request access here. If you want to browse the whole body of my work, you can go through my Livejournal Memories or browse my tags.

Firstly, your layout is incredible! Secondly, this is SUCH an awesome idea! It's SO being added to my memories!

I actually compiled several recs of my own in February of last year. For the first post, I tracked down the scattered stories of two of my very favourite fanfic authors, Lori McDonald and Valerie Jones. Their own sites are no longer around, or active, so it took a while to find everything, but it was so worth it. They're practically cannon! I just hope all the links still work!

The second post is a tribute to ishandahalf and Neurotic Temptress, two of my absolute favourites I discovered on ff.n. ANYTHING by EITHER of those two is absolutely wonderful!

[info]xenokattz has got some great stuff, which can be found in the Writer's Block at her website, Katt's Aerie.

I also love:
  • Growing Up by Faith Barnett
  • The Magician and the Butterfly by Karen Bruce
  • Anything by Broadway
  • Anything by angyxoxo

I also have my own humble contribution to the world of Rogue and Remy fan fiction. Some fluff. Some angst. Some unfinished. Really should work on that, actually. If you don't like my stories, I also recommend anything on my "favourites" page, there. If it's X-Men, it's pretty much guaranteed to be Rogue/Remy.

Again, thanks for this! I'll be checking back when I'm in the mood for some Rogue/Remy goodness. And possibly back to post some more recs.

You are awesome, m'dear. Thank you. I started making my way through your posts last night - great recs, really. I suspect a fair few will appear here as well, and regarding your fic - I actually read Shower Ritual last week and ended up losing the link. That'll be added here in a matter of moments under PWP.

Thank you. And do, please, tell me what else you find. I'd be happy to add new stuff you deem worthwhile - especially if the links you've provided are any indication of the work you've come across.

    Nice one. ;)

I've just finished reading a novel-length fic from ff.net. It's called Demon In My View by Raven2687. Here's the summary:

A bloodied Gambit seeks aid from the X-Men while a mutant predator is on the rampage. As Rogue and Gambit grow closer, the truth behind the mutant attacks is revealed and determines both their fates.

The only one that wasn't on there which is a fave of mine is Interactions by SLH http://www.fanfiction.net/s/320813/1/ and the WIP sequel Interplay http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2345433/1/ but I think someone else above mentioned them... so if you decide not to use them, it's all good, just letting you know that Interaction is one of my faves, because not only is it amazing Romy (the scenes they have together range from cute and fluffy to dark and angsty) but R&R get good scenes with the rest of the x-men as well ;)

    Thanks again!

Um, the summary for The Ripple Effect is wrong. Tho, the summary that is up there sounds quite interesting!

Here's the actual summary (so you don't have to go rooting around for it in your pre-concert and pre-con mayhem): Sequel to "One Wild Night". Duncan’s party was only the beginning of a whole new path for the XMen. People change, relationships grow and die, and on the other side, they’ll all come out different. Romy, Kurtty, Jott. formerly 'Runaway Rogue'

Tho, now that I think about it, Rogue as a drug-addicted government agent sounds like it would be really...interesting to say the least. And maybe a bit House, M.D.-ish too.

I join in on your squeeing about your upcoming MCR concert. I saw them when they were in Philly in Feb. (the came to my school/uni!) and it was totally awesome. Never had so much fun trying to ruin my vocal chords. Hopefully nothing happens during the concert that's food-poisoning related.

I've been wanting to mention, as I've seen it mentioned above, that Valerie Jones has some good stuff. But the above link is broken, so here's her ff.net. http://www.fanfiction.net/u/119104/ Awesomeness starting with Thick as Thieves, but that's not her only Romy stuff.

I've had to f-lock my fiction on Live Journal, so people won't be able to read Seven Deadly Sins unless I've friended them. I hated doing it, but things are too strange around here right now to leave it unlocked.

Hopefully I can change things back soon.

It was posted on fanfiction.net a while ago and the author took it down for revision. They was a long ass time ago. I dont care about whatever was wrong with it. I just wanna read it. So do you know anywhere I can find a copy of it? Cause google has failed me. Thanks for the help ♥

A couple of things that you may like to check out, and possibly rec... The second one is a crossover, so it may or may not belong on the list. I hope you're getting some time to rest Very Soon Now!

New, just started, only one chapter posted but already complete and ready to go: FREEDOM AND NECESSITY with [info]blndswdsmn - Rogue/Gambit. In the dark underbelly of Prohibition-era America, the seductive mutant Rogue will do literally anything to retain control over her powers, even serve the nefarious needs of evil Clan Akkaba. But when her work requires her to murder an entire group of not-so-innocent Assassins, the stakes become too high. She turns to the best thief in the world, one Remy LeBeau, in order to help her complete her mission and regain her independence. But her secrets are ones that he’d kill to know, and her actions are ones that he’d die to avenge. (Mature Adult)

Complete, all posted: DUPLICITY with [info]blndswdsmn - Rogue/Gambit, Angel/Cordelia, Willow/Xander. Multiple Cameos. Victorian London is terrified by a series of mysterious, brutal murders and unsolved kidnappings, hotly investigated by a famous detective. Can a confirmed rake, thief, and gambler manage to evade the entrapping web of his own criminal associations and defeat the Sherlockian mind of the vampire-turned-hero? Or will the sensual distraction of a beautiful American widow prove his downfall? (Mature Adult, Dark Themes. Crossover with Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Hey there-I wanted to start off by saying thank you for this list! Good Gambit/Rogue fic is hard to find and it's nice to find a list of the must reads.

I have a question though-could you clear up the order of the Gestalt Arc for me? It's normal to start-I, II, III, IV but then it seems to start again and goes I, I, IV. What order do I read them in?

    Thanks again for the list!

We've started posting a new story; it's complete, but only one chapter is posted at this time. Novel Length.

Promised Land by [info]vikingprincess and [info]eyelessblade
X-men Movie!Verse AU (set before X1; instead of a Cure, Plague)
    Rogue/Gambit, Ensemble
    Mature Adult (dark themes)

Summary: The world ended not with a bang, but a whimper, when the Plague swept the United States and then the world, throwing civilization into chaos. Murdering bands of raiders and mutants brutalize tiny settlements of survivors, while in a small corner of Manhattan, Remy LeBeau leads a group of people who want something more. But when they are attacked by a vicious young mutant with more power than he's ever seen, can the risk of trying to tame her be worth the cost?

Something new for you (romance? action/adventure? something like that). The story's complete, but will be posted once weekly until it's all up.

Title: The Art of a Con
    Authors: [info]vikingprincess and [info]eyelessblade
Setting: X-men Evolution (goes AU during "Rogue Recruit," Season 1)
Characters: Rogue/Gambit (Mystique, the Brotherhood, Xavier, the X-men)
Ratings/Warnings: Adult (violence, sexual content, language)
Disclaimers: We do not now nor have we ever owned any of the X-men in any of their various incarnations. The only compensation we receive for this writing is the comments of our readers. We will disinfect the characters and put them back in their proper places when we're finished, we promise!
A/N: Rogue's career choice inspired by the talented [info]girlanime.

Summary: Rogue's world turned upside down at a school dance when she accidentally absorbed a star quarterback and discovered she was a mutant with an awful gift. When Xavier and his team of do-gooders came chasing after her with shiny happy recruitment speeches, she chose instead to make a deal with her adopted mothers, and won two years of freedom studying art and adjusting to her mutation in New York City. But Mystique's come up against a dangerous deadline, and even if she has to hire a couple less-than reputable members of the LeBeau family to kidnap Rogue, she's getting her daughter back. Now.
