I haven't been this excited (or this frightened) for the fate of Remy LeBeau in ages:

Scans for the upcoming X-Men: Origins - GAMBIT!

Really? REALLY!???

Dear Marvel, please, please lend this stupid fangirl a little Emil Lapin love. That's not too much to ask, is it? I promise I will act my age for at least a month after I can get the initial excitement out of my system if you only, only treat the Guilds and their members a little better than you have in the past with all the Old Kingdom tripe.

(I need to call my comic book guys and have them put this on my sub immediately. Holy hell.)

...When it comes to T&A. Particularly Rogue's... in this particular position... with Remy's hand lingering only very slightly north of her posterior.

...

In my humble opinion, it's still hot.

Hell, the pose is practically iconic. Or is that cliche? This makes the second twisted-back embrace with cards and the threat of exposed skin seen in a matter of months, the last incident being #204 of Adjectiveless. Thoughts? Third time's a charm, says I. Bring it on, Marvel. You can't do any worse with these two than you've done so far.

I might've fallen out of fandom for a little while there - too many real life responsibilites kicking me around, maybe a little ennui - but let it be known that even if I'm not talking about it, I'm still reading. That benefits you in the following way:

FANON > CANON.

I howled and screamed and flailed about last night upon first reading those three immortal words made canon:

Remy Etienne LeBeau.

It's legit; fanon filters into canon: Lori McDonald's legacy has made it to print. Way to go, Marvel!

For you, eleven scans from Weapon X: First Class #3 below the cut, featuring a brief heist by the Ragin' Cajun (as a pichouette so he's still a little skinny and boyish) for the Big Bad below the cut. (I wasn't too impressed by the rest of the mini, but this is the reason I bothered buying it to begin with anyway.)

When I get home, first thing I'm gonna do is steal me a coat... )

Or, Download the Bundle.

Look it that: it's barely midnight, it's Friday, and I'm home in one piece and (mostly) sober. How awesome is that? (No drunk and blog for me tonight. No sir. Just an FYI, if you visit Montreal at any point in time, and you're fortunate enough to get a seat on the terrace of the St. Elizabeth, remember to stir the Sangria. Lucia de'Medici IRL: propagating the "duh" moments for the amusement of others.)

Onwards.

Hey, "True Believers", you seen this yet?

Why, yes, that is Taylor Kitsch as Remy LeBeau.

Why, yes, this is me wetting myself with glee.

Ick.
Just a little too much "drinky drinky" last night in pre-Canada Day celebration. (It was St. Jean Baptiste last week, which means absolutely nothing to me since I worked that day, the fireworks kept my dog up, which in turn kept me up, and people were just generally obnoxious in displaying their Quebecois-ness... this happens in equal proportion to those of us in Quebec who demonstrate our Canadian-ness today. Fortuneately for greater Montreal society, I'm too hungover to do much by way of flaunting the red n' white.)

Anyway.

There was a point to this post:

I crave beignets and cafe au lait.

Instead of beignets and cafe au lait, I found New Orleans based-ROMY darkfic. (Somewhere nearby, Julie Andrews is singing, "These are a few of my favourite things.") It compensates for the lack of fried things covered in powdered sugar, trust me. (And you all know how I get with my cravings, right? I covet enthusiastically.)

P.S. Wall-E is the shit, but more important than Wall-E were the Pixar previews. Can I just say that The Tale of Despereaux looks awesome? OMG. Daredevil Mouse with Big Ears. I'm totally sold already.

P.P.S. Ten days. (Hint: The Right Hand of Doom is > you.)

It's been a while since I've done one of these, and I'd like to keep something of a flow happening over the summer (since its the only time I seem to be able to read fanfiction at all). Fresh fan-to-fan recs, folks. (All Romy, all the time? Something like that.)

(I'm mostly set up. Few things to work out before full functionality can be had again, but seriously... you wanna know how long it takes me to open Photoshop? Four seconds. *snicker hysterically* Four! Lordy... this is what I call luxury.)
